在五年前 , 每一個鄉鎮                             Five years ago every township in Taiwan,

都希望能夠找到自己的特色（發展觀光）      wanted to find its own distinguishing feature (to develop local tourism .)

一開始我們講到要辦馬拉松                       We initially suggested holding a marathon,

很多鄉親第一個反應就是說                       But many residents said,

田中這麼小要跑到哪裡去                          Tianzhong is so small . Where could people run ? 

好山好水好無聊                                     They'd also bring up how it's beautiful but bring here.

我們把它串連起來以後                  The route we put together encompasses

有老街 有水圳 有八寶圳廊道          the old street , the canal, the Babaochuan Green Corridor,

有森林步道 有自行車道                 a forest trail, and a bike path,

其實他就是一個很多元的賽道環境    making for a very diverse running environment .

十分的吸引人                              It's a very attractive route.  

一開始要辦這個賽事的時候           When we first hosted the race,

大家都不知道什麼叫做馬拉松        No one knew what a marathon was.

那對於我們這些長輩村裡的人        Also for our older residents,

講到跑步還要吃東西的時候           the idea of people eating and running at the same time,

這個對他們而言就有點天方夜譚     was like something out of a fantasy novel.

我們就舉說就像迎媽祖                      To explain it to them,we said that it was like a Mazu pilgrimage.

陣頭來到這裡 你會準備飲料               When the procession arrived, locals would prepare drinks,

你會切水果 你會泡茶                        slice fruit,and make tea.

去跟大甲媽是不是也是一路吃不完        Residents could also relate to the experience of eating and walking

這個跟那個（馬拉松）是一樣的           A marathon could be better explained like this.

台灣最美的風景是人           The best part of Taiwan is its people,

透過這樣的活動                and through activities like this,

讓我們找到最原始的情感     We can see the purest of their emothons.
